Living it Up on the Ever-Changing SWP with BNSF and UP in HO Scale

The Southwestern Pacific is a beautiful layout set in a freelanced version of the American Southwest. You’ll learn how the layout was constructed, how it operates, and how Mike McGinley (a career railroader) integrated his railroad experience into the planning of the pike. Mike runs the BNSF and the Union Pacific on the SWP, and since the layout’s era changes, that also means a variety of pre-merger locomotives. Our in-depth tour focuses on the BNSF in 2001 (with pre-merger BN and Santa Fe) and in 2006 with the Union Pacific and pre-merger (patched) SP power. We share a walkthrough interview with Mike at the layout. You won’t want to miss this scenic gem. The movie includes video of both time frames and a cab ride around the layout.
