Canyon Creek Timber Railway
You may have heard of “Canyon Creek Pete,” who makes trees for modelers. Well, you don’t want to miss touring Pete Vassler’s own personal HO scale layout. The Canyon Creek Timber Railway is a logging shortline based in southwestern Washington in 1956. You’ll love the scenery on the layout, which is Pete’s main focus, and you’ll get to see both steam and diesel power hauling a variety of trains on the layout. You’ll learn some of the methods Pete uses to build scenery and enjoy some in-progress photos that he shared, showing the process of building the Canyon Café.
Batline Railroad
On this tour of the Batline Railroad, you’ll learn how modeler Len Bruening designed the switching layout and how he manages his operating sessions. You’ll see transition-era trains at work on the pike with a focus on the scenicked areas, but some in-progress photos as well. You’ll also enjoy a bit of the creative backstory of the freelanced layout.
